United Capital appoints Bunmi Akinremi as Deputy CEO
United Capital Plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Bunmi Akinremi as Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the Investment Banking Division.
Bunmi brings over 20 years’ investment banking and transaction experience to United Capital Plc. He trained as an accountant with Grant Thornton in London, before joining the Royal Bank of Scotland’s Specialised Lending Unit, where he acted as lead Transaction Manager on a series of high profile transactions in the UK market. His Nigeria market experience, including time with the United Bank for Africa, has seen him play prominent roles in a number of landmark corporate restructures and fundraising.

United Capital & She Leads Africa launch savings calculator
Last month, the She Leads Africa Savings Calculator – a new online tool to help young women identify their savings needs and determine the best way to reach their financial goals – was launched. The SLA Savings Calculator is supported by United Capital Trustees, the leading Nigerian Trust Company providing bespoke value-added service to its clients for over 50 years.
The Savings Calculator enables users to identify what their savings goals are such as buying a car, saving up for rent or paying for school fees; the amount they need to save and the target date they want to reach that goal.
The Savings Calculator formula will calculate how much you should be saving per month to reach your goal and the differences between a traditional savings account and a United Capital Private Investment Trust. Users will also be able to speak with a financial advisor if they want to further discuss their savings goals and develop an action plan to reach them.
