Favourite concerts, events, and moments

This question immediately brings a song to mind: “There’s no party like a Lagos party (TOE’s Party)! At Lagos party, we don’t bother nobody lol!

What?! If you didn’t attend TOE’s all-white party, did you even do Detty December? And the Group chairman’s party (Futuristic)too. Honestly, after these nights, I was done with parties and concerts for the season. Why? Because we had the Big Three plus Flavour perform live and direct! I mean, who else was left to see after that? A time was truly had. After that event, it was more of chilling with friends and spending time with family, this was everything and more for me.

Unplanned adventures

What’s December without a little (or a lot of) chaos? Lol, Detty December is practically an adventure itself, no sleep, no rest, just vibes. Picture this, partying all night, getting home around 6 or 7 a.m., catching a few hours of sleep, dressing up again for day activities, back and then heading out again for another night of fun. Even as I narrate this, I feel the shame creeping up on me! Jessica, what?! December brings out the wildest side of us.

Random acts of kindness

Beyond Valentine’s Day, there’s so much love to give. Visiting less-privileged homes is a great way to spread joy. It’s not just about giving money or items, it’s about spending time, sharing stories, and making people feel seen. Other ideas? Organizing small donation drives, I know of a girl who cooks and shares on the street, you can sponsor one of those, sponsoring school fees, or simply brightening someone’s day with kind words. Love isn’t seasonal, it’s an everyday action.

Finding love during the holidays

Oh, the stories I could tell! Holiday romance hits differently, especially when the IJGB crowd (I Just Got Back) storms town. Their energy is unmatched, and they add an extra spark to the season. Fun is guaranteed, and sometimes, you even meet someone interesting. But as for the details? Let’s just say I’ll keep those to myself for now!  lol

Budget-friendly holidays?

These days, there’s nothing budget friendly. With flight costs skyrocketing, every trip feels like a full-blown national budget. But we still find a way to enjoy ourselves because what is life without a little splurging?

Valentine’s Day Moments

My most memorable Valentine’s Day memory

Valentine’s Day always brings surprises, and there’s one memory that stands out for me, but you’ll have to come back Tomorrow for that gist. Wink

Creative date night ideas

For couples, think outside the box, plan a themed date night at home, cook a meal together, visit an upscale restaurant for a date night, book a couple spa date or even take a pottery/ painting class. For singles, a self-love date night is perfect. Treat yourself to a spa day or go to that fancy restaurant you’ve been eyeing. Dates don’t always need company to be magical.

Relationship goals for 2025

For 2025, it’s all about building stronger connections whether it’s through better communication, shared goals, or simply spending more quality time together. For singles, the goal might be to focus on self-growth and being open to new possibilities. Whatever it is, it should bring peace and happiness.

Love Stories and Mishaps

How we met, the most unusual love story

Love finds us in the strangest ways and at unexpected places, through a random event, or even a misdialled number. I met my fiance at one time at the club. It was a 3-plus-year relationship.

Valentine’s Day fails and wins.

From gifts that miss the mark to grand surprises, Valentine’s Day always brings a mix of highs and lows. Once, a friend’s partner forgot Valentine’s Day which was an entirely big failure. On the flip side, there was a surprise candlelit dinner set up by the guy who became the talk of the group chat for weeks. Every Valentine’s Day teaches us something new about love and effort.

Ever used a dating app?

I haven’t because there are so many guys on the streets! That said, my cousin met her husband on Tinder. He’s a Caucasian – wonderful guy – and they now have a beautiful baby boy together. She is living the princess lifestyle. It’s incredible how technology is helping people find love across continents.

Their story is proof that love truly knows no boundaries.
