Share your special moments under the mistletoe.

So, it’s not exactly under the mistletoe but it’s just as spicy, I promise.

In Christmas 2021, I was really sad. I wasn’t feeling the Christmas spirit at all, and I didn’t even wish anyone a Merry Christmas because there was nothing merry about it. My friend, who is a Muslim, called. His favourite holiday is Christmas, (can you imagine?) so he would always call to wish me a Merry Christmas. When he heard my voice, he knew something was up and I told him I wasn’t happy. This guy actually drove down to my house, bringing wine and chocolates! He made me dress up and go out with him! Crazy thing? We ended up at the strip club that night. It was my first strip club experience, and it’s one of my best Christmas experiences to date! It was the thought that counted—the fact that, despite being a Muslim, he went out of his way to make me happy. That’s a good friend.

Share your top 2023 moments! Reflect with us.

My best moment was finishing my program at the Chartered Institute of Marketing. During the period when I wrote the exam, I was really busy at work, so I wasn’t too sure about my results. When I got the call that I did well, I literally started crying. This course took months and a lot of money. I really wanted to do well.

Another memorable moment was moving to a new apartment. I remember the day I decided to make the move; I was on my way back home from a trip, but I wasn’t happy to go back home because I didn’t like my house. Upon arriving home that night, my apartment had been burgled, but they weren’t able to steal anything. After that, I couldn’t stay there, so I started searching until I found my dream apartment. No matter where I am now, I’m always eager to go home because I like my new apartment.

Christmas then vs now; what changed?

I’ve never really been a fan of Christmas holidays; the only thing I like about Christmas is the opportunity to rest and just sleep. Last year’s Christmas was calm; I spent most of it indoors. But this year, I plan to make this December lively. I want to attend more concerts, go to the beach, and enjoy house parties and drunk karaoke. This year’s December must be dirty oh; so help me GOD.

Your January resolutions, where are they now?

Lol, no resolutions yet, oh! Make we still dey look sha. Usually, I write my resolutions in January, depending on how I’m feeling. I spend most of December asking God for direction on my next steps and just wait to hear from Him and see how I’m feeling. I never want to make any move that’s not backed by God.

Is your December going to be ‘detty or clean?

It’s gonna be dirrrtyyyyyyyy! Please, I’m receiving invites oh. Invite me to parties. I love open-space concerts where you can walk around and eat from any vendor. I love the idea of being able to control my fun! If the music is boring, I can take a walk, go and eat something, and even gist and bump into people I haven’t seen in a while.

What are the best spots to visit this season?

It’s tricky; there are a lot of cool places to go, but somewhere I’d like to visit again is SOL Oniru by Box Mall. That place is amazing; they have so many nice restaurants and a lot of fun activities. It’s a beach, and they’ve been having concerts every weekend; it’s called Rhythm and Roots. Another place you should visit this Christmas is Bature Brewery on Friday if live performances are your thing. You’ll enjoy it, but you have to make reservations, so you’ll get a good seat.

99 Days of January, how do you cope?

Omo! I don’t even want to think about January! Please let me just enjoy this December and not think about how long January is going to be. I honestly don’t know how January will be oh or what to expect but I’ll spend the most of it praying and committing the year 2024 in God’s hand, make eee no choke oh. This baby girl lifestyle needs to be maintained.
