Viewing Love Through My Eyes

“LOVE” … a four-letter word with diverse meanings for different people, a simple word with in-depth meanings. Whenever I think about love, my imagination runs wild. I take a trip down to Lala land, where everything beautiful is magnified. It is a rush of beautiful streams of emotions running through my veins.

It is like having a warm bath, soaking in the heated water, feeling it hugging and seeping through my skin gently, breathing in the aroma of the bubble bath and the sweet scent of candles… rose petals lying adorably on the floor, with good music filtering through my ears.
Love is warmth, it is holding someone’s hands and feeling safe. It is knowing that you matter the most to someone.

This utopic feeling means safety and security; it means having shoulders you can cry on, arms you can rest on, hands that welcome you on your bad days, lips that keep your secrets locked in, and eyes that see your pains even before you say them.

Love is selfless; It is putting the needs of the other person into consideration when making decisions.

Love is an act; it is neither mere words nor empty promises. It is not the preference of one love language over another; it is the genuine display of all love languages.

Love is attentive; it pays attention to details. It listens as you bare your heart out. It is not judgemental, and it makes you feel safe.

This affectionate feeling births good communication, patience, trust, stability, and peace. And it aborts grudges.

It does not depict frailty or vulnerability; it shows strength and humanity, and gives you something to fight and live for.

The description of love is endless; it is the best feeling in the world, encompassing a range of strong and positive emotional and mental states, from the most sublime virtue or good habit, the deepest interpersonal affection, to the simplest pleasure.

Don’t get me wrong, love isn’t always a bed of roses, but it isn’t a bed of thorns either. Love is forgiveness and never giving up, it is knowing that you won’t let the other person get drenched when it ‘rains’. It is being the other person’s umbrella on rainy days.

Love begins with you; it is writing down the qualities you expect from someone and first bodying those qualities before searching for them elsewhere.
