Have you ever seen someone wearing a purple silk shirt tucked into green pants and thought to yourself: What the hell?!!
I’m guessing, probably!
The good thing is, there are people who don’t mix and match on a whim, and even when they do, there is always an intelligent effort to it.
I can say this because even the most conservative of us have a measure of colour appreciation, and when we see a combination that is cool, we acknowledge it.
Why?
Because colours talk! They can suggest you are too loud, or bold, or shy, or forgettable. And brands and organisations have understood this for centuries and milked it to their advantage.
In fact, colours are so important that there is an entire international institution that regulates it.
This is where I will introduce you to ‘Pantone’
These guys are so into colours that they basically pump all their money in research and come up with the latest colour trends for designers and colour enthusiasts.
As if that is not enough, they have introduced a colour theme for 2019!! They call it ‘Living Coral’.
Now, you may be thinking: Where is Clari even going with this?
When it comes to brands, colour is used to convey a specific message, which sets the tone for the experience people to expect to have when they meet your brand.
In our case at Heirs Holdings, you all know our special colour is red (If you don’t know I’d be really worried.
Our version of red which is Pantone PMS 485C is one of the main symbols that represent our brand in addition to the Logo, the corporate typeface and our culture.
So, why does HH go for red?
Because it is bold, imaginative, passionate and pumped with purpose.
What else can better capture what we stand for as a Group and our ambition to improve lives and transform Africa?
So, the next time you look at our letterhead, or logo or website, do so with pride and the conviction that you are part of something so beautiful and deliberate.
