A Week of Africapitalism

Heirs Holdings Founder and Group Chairman, Tony O. Elumelu, CFR, was recently in Dubai and Paris where he championed infrastructure-led growth and youth entrepreneurship as key drivers of Africa’s development.

Monday, May 12:

No Dubai FinTech Summit, hosted by the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), Mr. Elumelu took part in a powerful fireside chat, moderated by Lenah Hassaballah, Editor, CNN Business Arabic.

Speaking on the theme: “Beyond the Horizon: Africa is the next economic power that will shape our global future”, Mr. Elumelu made a case for investment in Africa, led by its vibrant private sector and driven by young, ambitious entrepreneurs.

The private sector is Africa’s lifeline. Governments alone cannot fix Africa. We need bold public-private partnerships. When the public sector creates the right environment, the private sector will build the future.”- Tony O. Elumelu, C.F.R

He shared insights on the transformative role of private sector investments in unlocking Africa’s economic potential, stressing the importance of public-private sector partnerships, empowering entrepreneurs, and creating enabling environments for inclusive growth.

Thursday, May 15 –

In Paris, Mr. Elumelu was hosted to a private high-level dinner by Maurice Lévy, Chairman of Publicis Groupe, and Lady Lynn Forester de Rothschild, where they were joined by other global leaders

Friday, May 16 –

The week closed with Tony Elumelu’s participation at the Inclusive Capitalism’s 2025 Steering Committee Meeting at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development Headquarters in Paris at the invitation of his good friend, Lady Lyn de Rotschild.
