We must take the initiative to acknowledge and celebrate ourselves. If we don\u2019t say \u201chere I am,\u201d no one else will say \u201cthere you are.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rather than waiting for recognition, men must create and claim spaces that honour their contributions. The origins of International Women\u2019s Day show how women championed their own cause. Similarly, men must advocate for themselves, highlighting their roles, struggles, and achievements.<\/p>\n<p>This IMD, let\u2019s spotlight the real issues men face: abuse, homelessness, suicide, and violence. Let\u2019s move beyond the \u201cguy-man\u201d culture that discourages vulnerability. We need safe spaces where men can express themselves without fear of judgment.<\/p>\n<p>International Men\u2019s Day is built on six key pillars:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Promoting positive male role models, not just celebrities, but everyday men leading honest lives.<\/li>\n<li>Celebrating men\u2019s positive contributions to society, family, and the environment.<\/li>\n<li>Focusing on men\u2019s health and well-being, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual.<\/li>\n<li>Addressing discrimination against men in social services, social attitudes, expectations and law.<\/li>\n<li>Improving gender relations and promoting equality.<\/li>\n<li>Creating a safer, more inclusive world where everyone can thrive.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To all men reading this: Happy International Men\u2019s Day.
