I was assured all hopes of calm and tranquillity<\/p>\n
A nation bound in freedom<\/p>\n
With resources abundant to choose from<\/p>\n

Through threescores her history unfold<\/p>\n
Her journey through life, though most untold<\/p>\n
Handed down from the colonial masters<\/p>\n
To national leaders, few better than all others<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Yet, after a score, decade and half a dozen years<\/p>\n
Still the burdens of this country she bears<\/p>\n
What hope do we have to give<\/p>\n
The future generations who have to live<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
With no opportunity for basic education<\/p>\n
Nor for their health, proper medication<\/p>\n
No justice for the oppressed<\/p>\n
But loud silence from the government buttressed<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The time has come, we bond together<\/p>\n
Young or old, it really doesn’t matter<\/p>\n
Using your gift, resources or talent to utter<\/p>\n
Calling out inadequacies and bring to order<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The betrayal of our leaders high and low<\/p>\n
The audacity of hope is all we know<\/p>\n
Beyond the hopes of moral or religious sanctimony<\/p>\n
To build a nation proudly free of acrimony<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
