Food is an important part of our identity and it’s a key component of our well-being. You only need to hear someone speaking enthusiastically about Jollof rice or Nkwobi to know where they\u2019re from. Think about it, the most asked question among couples in Nigeria is, \u201cHave you eaten?\u201d<\/p>\n

At Avon HMO, food is of more significance, considering how what we consume could either keep us healthy or aid an illness. Food is also a key component of living healthier, fuller, lives and this was the reason behind our \u2018cuisine-themed\u2019 Africa Day celebration.<\/p>\n

Everyone turned up in colourful traditional African regalia representing diverse cultural backgrounds. The goal was to get staff to #RepATribe and it was a thing of beauty seeing Igbo in Hausa kaftan, Igala in Edo attire and Yoruba in Niger Delta attire.<\/p>\n

The major highlight was when everyone got a true taste of Africa. Nothing was left out; there was amala, nkwobi, suya, efo riro, ikokore, abacha, ofada rice, egusi,<\/em> and so much more.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It all turned out to be, in the words of the CEO, Simbo Ukiri, \u201cOne of the best in-office celebrations we\u2019ve had.\u201d<\/p>\n

It won\u2019t be out of place to say that the memories will last for a very long time. Once again, the entire team demonstrated that either at work or play, there\u2019s a culture of unity, despite multiple differences in cultural backgrounds and upbringing.<\/p>\n
