When \u00a0something differs from the past or the norm. \u00a0A change could be developmental, transitional or transformational.\u00a0 The common factor at the end of the day is an alteration.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why do people or even Organizations tend to resist change?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Change may be resisted for several reasons. One of which is the desire to preserve the old ways of doing things and old institutions.\u00a0 Other reasons are; fear of the unknown, loss of control, inadequate communication\/information, more responsibilities, fear of incompetence and so much more.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Could the realization of an Organization\u2019s potentials depend on change?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The realization of an Organization\u2019s vision is dependent on change. \u00a0The environment won\u2019t stay the same, so organizations must embrace change. \u00a0As the world evolves, customers\u2019 needs also change.<\/p>\n<p>Where there is resistance to change, there is resistance to ideas. Businesses must be willing to change in order to remain productive and stay relevant. Challenging the status quo could give birth to new ideas and innovations that will further launch the organization\u2019s potentials.<\/p>\n<p>In order to identify opportunities in the market place and equally increase competitiveness, change should be seen as a catalyst and not a hindrance. \u00a0Companies that don\u2019t innovate die.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/heirsholdings.com\/hhpeople\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/change.gif\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-2073 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/heirsholdings.com\/hhpeople\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/change.gif\" alt=\"change\" width=\"768\" height=\"337\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>How can we lead change?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Change is inevitable so it is a collective effort. In an organization, everyone can be a change agent but it is the responsibility of the management to develop a change management plan in order to involve all stakeholders in the process.<\/p>\n<p>Below are a few steps that should be considered:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Know the goal<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>What is the objective of this change? This should be understood from the beginning.<\/p>\n<p>A\u00a0change leader must have the confidence and ability to change tactic, if another path looks clearer.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Plan<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To successfully implement change, a plan must be in place. Before embarking on a journey of transformation, ensure there is a solid business plan.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Communicate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The level of communication determines the amount of information available to stakeholders for corporate change. \u00a0Communication should be consistent, frequent, and through multiple channels.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Identify key players.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the process of change, change advocates should be identified. This actually makes the process easier. They are likely to be instrumental when\u00a0new processes are put into practice.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>5. Delegate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Change can\u2019t be implemented in isolation.
