Basically because I believe sex, and the resulting possible pregnancies,\u00a0 should be confined to marriage (I&#8217;m Christian).\u00a0 That being said, I also don&#8217;t believe it should carry a stigma. In an ideal situation, a man and a women should be responsible to raising a child within a stable family setting. This directly or indirectly has an impact on the way the child turns out in terms of values, character building and outlook to life.\u00a0There is financial strain on the woman who has to raise her child as a single mum. Whether you like it or not, the women has to hustle more as a single mum unless she has financial inheritances she can rely on to raise her child.\u00a0It makes a mockery of the Institution of Marriage which promotes raising a child within the defined components of a family unit.<\/p>\n<p>On the flip side, women sometimes find themselves in situations beyond their control leading them to have children outside wedlock. If you ever find yourself in this situation, my recommendation will be to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span lang=\"en-US\">Make plans to raise your child by saving for their education, health requirements and feeding until adulthood<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"en-US\">Have a trust fund to support them until they become independent<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"en-US\">Rely on support from immediate family members if you are experiencing financial hardship.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"color: #1f497d; font-family: 'century gothic', sans-serif; font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<strong>Lola Obembe, Heirs Holdings<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>I think these things happen sometimes no matter how much you plan and plan and what do you do if it happens?<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>At a certain stage in life I was the bluest of blue democrats out there. My right to choice was sacrosanct. But as I have grown and have seen friends around me have to make this decision some for and some against, having seen the anguish that comes with &#8220;fixing&#8221; the situation and the delight that the son or daughter becomes several years later, I&#8217;ve certainly had to rethink my stance.
