U.S. Chargé d’affaires Recognises the Contribution of Tony Elumelu Foundation in Supporting Entrepreneurs in Nigeria
U.S. Chargé d’affaires, David J. Young recognised the contribution of the Tony Elumelu Foundation to the growth of entrepreneurship in Nigeria, stating that through the Foundation, “Nigerian businessman Tony Elumelu has focused on training and sponsoring young entrepreneurs, not just in Nigeria, but throughout Africa”.
Young made this statement while pledging the support of the United States to Nigeria’s Presidential ‘Care Clinics’ to boost small and medium size businesses.
“Indeed, the United States and Nigeria share the high regard in which we hold the importance of vibrant small and medium enterprises among business and political leaders”, he said. “As Nigeria begins to grow out of recession, working with the government to build a solid foundation for broad-based economic growth will help businesses realize their full potential,” he concluded in his speech.
