Sam Nwanze speaks on corporate governance and innovation at the ‘CGMA Speaks Series’
On Thursday, March 23, 2017, Sam Nwanze, the Director of Finance and Investments, Heirs Holdings, was a panel discussant at the ‘CGMA Speaks Series’, where he participated in a panel discussion on ‘Joining the dots – The Future of Executive decision Making’. The breakfast discussion was held at Four Points by Sheraton, Lagos.
Mr. Nwanze spoke about the importance for companies to put in place effective corporate governance systems to curb any form of misdemeanor. He also spoke extensively on the need for continuously refreshing the culture of innovation in the organisation, citing Heirs Holdings, as an example of a company cultivating and encouraging a culture of innovation.
According to Sam, “Culture plays a major role in an organisation. You must as a company build a culture of innovation. However, the innovation must fall within the boundaries that govern the company.”
The ‘CGMA Speaks’ series was a joint initiative by the organised by the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), Phillips Consulting and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). Other speakers at the panel included Mr. Foluso Phillips, FCMA, CGMA, Executive Chairman, Phillips Consulting Limited, Mr. Andrew Miskin, FCMA CGMA MIET, President CIMA & Chair, The Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, and Ms. Foluke Aboderin, Deputy Managing Director, Ecobank Plc.
